Bob Bennett Launches Parkvillle Reelection Bid! (see News tab for Announcement)
“I’m for Parkville. This is my home and my community, and I want to help build a safer, stronger, and smarter Parkville. I’m excited to build on the work we’ve started during this transformative period in our history.”
Bob’s first two terms focused on collaboration and practical decision-making. Bob helped the city team transform management systems to reflect best practices, plan for the future and improve operations. He sees the next term as an opportunity to use that momentum to further Parkville's growth as a regional leader. “I’m for a stronger Parkville: that we build together with community, consensus and common sense.”

I will provide the Board of Aldermen and City Staff with the same expertise, experience and resources for optimal city strategy and operations that I provide the client cities with which I work. Parkville receives a 90+% discount from the hourly rate for the same services.
On Redefine Route 9: I will continue to challenge the status quo in order to develop a solution that markedly improves pedestrian safety, provides Main Street businesses with new economic opportunities, and prepares our infrastructure for the continued growth of western Parkville. For Riss Lake, this will result in faster, safer transit through “the triangle” where Route 9 transitions from its role as “East Street” to “River Road” because approximately one half of the rush hour traffic at that intersection will be diverted directly to the west on the new road we will build between the Veterans’ Memorial and East Street.
On the World Cup: I will use the tools I learned while working for Generals Petraeus, Odierno and others to gain multi-organizational collaboration to ensure all our residential communities and business districts benefit from the World Cup experience. I helped write the legislation related to short term rentals in Parkville in 2024, and I’m the chair of the committee implementing that policy among our neighborhoods. For our businesses, I am bringing together representatives from each of our districts through the committee to share ideas, best practices and contacts. We have already seen proposals that will impact the operations at The American Legion and several Creekside businesses.
On Infrastructure: I was part of many street and water department technology deployments while serving as Kansas City’s Chief Innovation Officer. I will bring experiences from projects that succeeded and failed into the room when we vote on the upcoming policy discussions we will have about our sewer system. I’ll also bring in best practices that I encounter at the CTI forums I lead; these meetings typically involve senior technology or transportation leaders from 20-25 cities at a time. Parkville is generally one of the two smaller cities in the meetings; New York or Los Angeles are generally the larger two cities in the room.
